What replaces the bank connection?
The statement is your starting point. Elcap reads supported investment and mortgage documents on your iPhone. You review the extracted information before saving it; importing a document does not give Elcap your bank or brokerage password.
Support depends on the document. Check the import result and any warnings, rather than assuming every holding or field was recognized.
What updates, and what do you refresh?
Market prices and account records are different things. Market quotes can update eligible holdings. Live features require Elcap Live membership; availability depends on your app version and account. A newer quote does not tell the app that you bought shares, sold an investment, or transferred cash.
Add an updated statement when your account changes. Review the source date and recorded values so you know what your wealth view represents.
Does privacy first mean everything stays offline?
No. Statement processing happens on your iPhone. Wealth data is stored on your device, with private cloud backup and sync when enabled. Connected features use services for sign-in, market prices, property value estimates, diagnostics, and analytics.
The privacy policy explains data use and your choices. Tracking without a bank connection is a specific product approach, not a promise that no information ever leaves your device.
Who does this approach suit?
It suits someone who wants to choose which statements to add and is comfortable refreshing their sources. If you need automatic transaction imports or continuous brokerage-account reconciliation, that is a different workflow.
Elcap shows tracked wealth from the sources you supply. Do not assume the total includes every asset or liability you own.
